September 12 California Invasion A warning to the U.K.: Sherwood are coming and bringing their sunny disposition with them! After precursor visits with Hellogoodbye, Say Anything, and finally Zebrahead, Sherwood are returning to the U.K. in November to celebrate the release of their acclaimed MySpace Records full-length ÒA Different LightÓ. WeÕll be joining our good friends GoAudio for a 3-week jaunt across the English country side (see Tour Dates for details). WeÕre skipping out on American Thanksgiving holiday to be with you lovely Brits, so come out and see us! Cheerio, Sherwood September 8 GOLDRUSH! Presenting Goldrush!, a Sherwood tour this October for seeing friends, polishing old finds, and mining new ones. Including: SONGS! - Between touring abroad and playing festivals in North America, the Sherwood lads have begun writing songs for a new album slated for 2009. DELUXE! - This fall will also see the release of Sing But Keep Going [Deluxe Edition], SherwoodÕs first album repackaged with 4 previously unreleased songs. TOUR! We think it has something to do with lipstick, a colored version of the chapstick we use regularly on tour. Not really sure. Friday, June 1, 2007 Alternative Press is holding a contest for bands to design their own fake AP cover! Sherwood needs you to add their fake cover as your default MySpace profile image. We just finished our tour with Relient K and Mae yesterday. We are driving to San Antonio right now and playing one last show before we go home for a few weeks. We just wanted to say thanks to Relient K for bringing us out on tour, it was the best tour we have ever done! We had so much fun that it was hard to say goodbye, three months went by all to fast. We are excited to go home and see our friends and families, we will be home for a few weeks before we head out again for the summer. While at home we will be working on some electro remixes of songs off our new record. We will also be finishing some b sides and hopefully getting all these out sometime soon. The last few days have been long, the days that seem endless to the point that you start to wonder if the sun might have just have forgotten to go down. It seems like being on tour wears on my soul after a few months of constant driving and disorganized sleep. I usually hate that feeling that way because it's such a blessing to be able to live this life, so many friends, so many experiences and so much growth. But I am a broken open seed just waiting to see what comes next. I am now finding more value in the day and letting the sun hit my face in ways it never has. Tomorrow might never be here, I should not worry about that. I hope you, whoever you are, will see the sunshine today and see more than just a sphere of fire. I hope... The other night, we were doing what every band does, whether or not they will admit it: we will searching for Sherwood videos on YouTube. In doing so, we found a few pretty notable ones, including someone doing a pretty good acoustic cover of "Learn to Sing" and some home-made music videos. But the best, the mother load, the absolute most awesome Sherwood YouTube video is, of course, all about Mikey. Wow. - Dan Thursday, April 19, 2007 Joe Tour Blog 4.19.07 The Seattle/British Columbia area is one of the prettiest places I've ever been. The air is so crisp and pure, and the abundant rain leaves the ground soggy and green. Yesterday we played in Vancouver, B.C. at a place called the Croatian Cultural Center which is exactly what it sounds like. The entranceway was adorned with a gigantic mural featuring various Croatian cultural/historical icons arranged around a Greek-style terrace. I was a bit puzzled by the artist's inclusion of the topless muses floating in the air, draped in pastel sheets. Maybe that's why he/she is an artist and I'm a drummer. After we played, Nate and I spent an hour outside in the parking lot putting new wheels on the bottom of our rolling tool case/guitar tech station. We used our cell phones as lights, but ended up dropping both into the recesses of the case by accident. Nate remarked how the cheering Relient K fans sounded like seagulls. I laughed several times because he was right. Every time Matt Thiessen introduced a new song, it sounded like someone threw a hundred loaves of bread into an army of seagulls. Pretty funny. Now we're driving through western Washington. It's so beautiful and rejuvenating, especially after driving the RV until 5 a.m. two night in a row. It's a living. Next stop, Portland. There's a very small chance we might be staying at a mansion. I'm not getting my hopes up, but a guy can dream, can't he? <3 Joe |
